The Housing Department monitors privately owned deed-restricted Affordable and Workforce rental units to ensure compliance with their recorded deed-restrictions. This ensures that our limited housing resources are being used appropriately, and preserves housing opportunities for the local workforce.
A complete Tenant Qualification Packet is required to qualify tenant households, whether for a lease renewal, new household move-in, or Annual Requalification. To see a list of what is required for a complete Tenant Qualification Packet, please use the Affordable/Workforce Rental Checklist below. Please note that incomplete Tenant Qualification Packets will NOT be accepted.
Self-Employed tenants must also complete a Self-Employed Local Business Application to ensure that their self-employment meets the definition of a local business. This can be found below.
*Helpful Hint* - Read the Rental Checklist THOROUGHLY prior to submitting documentation.
If you are curious about whether a prospective tenant household will qualify for their unit, the Qualification Calculator- Excel or the Qualification Calculator- PDF is a helpful tool to utilize before submitting an application for approval.
