New Posting Requirements For Food Service Establishments

Teton Health District Rules for Food Safety 2014 require food establishments to post specific information for customers. Two key new postings include:

Chapter 2, Section 12 (a) 12

This section requires that establishments notify customers that a copy of the most recent inspection report is available upon request by posting a sign or placard in a location in the food establishment that is conspicuous to customers.

Language for this posting:

  • Notice to our customers: Upon request our most recent health inspection is available for you to view.

Chapter 3, Section 63

This section covers serving undercooked animal foods. If food such as beef, eggs, fish, lamb, milk, pork, poultry, or shellfish is served or sold raw, undercooked, or without otherwise being processed to eliminate pathogens the license holder shall inform consumers of the significantly increased risk of consuming such foods by way of a disclosure and reminder. This reminder and disclosure can be brochures, deli case or menu advisories, label statements, table tents, placards or other effective written means.

Language for this posting:

  • Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, or eggs (such as hamburger cooked to order, sushi, oysters on the half shell or raw egg Caesar salad) may increase your risk of foodborne illness, especially if you have certain medical conditions.
