This year, firefighters talked to students about how to stay safe during an emergency, and tasked students with creating their very own emergency escape plan for themselves and their family. Then, Jackson Hole Fire/EMS chief’s examined all the plans submitted by students and selected the emergency escape plan.
The purpose of the competition is for families to get involved in their emergency plan. By having a plan and practicing that plan, everyone knows what to do in a fire and is prepared to escape quickly and safely.
The winning student received a ride to school in a firetruck with Chief Hansen.
