Ladder Truck Training

20171105_133126

Jackson Hole Fire/EMS has a 100 foot ladder truck, which is called Truck 16.  This specialized piece of equipment designated for rescue and fire suppression in Teton County, WY requires highly trained operators.  Mike Wilbur, instructor with Emergency Vehicle Response and over 30 years with the Fire Department of New York (FDNY), spent 2 days with 11 Jackson Hole Fire/EMS members November 4-5, 2017.  The training covered proper Truck 16 placement and effective use strategies.  Brian Coe, Battalion Chief of Training with Jackson Hole Fire/EMS, was quoted following the training, "The ladder truck training was incredibly valuable for both our organization and the citizens of Teton County, WY.  The practical application of taking the truck to both Snow King Resort and Jackson Lumber, buildings in our response area, was a critical component that helped students apply the knowledge gained."  Jackson Hole Fire/EMS will continue to train with Truck 16 to ensure readiness.
